Much news has surfaced recently concerning the governing hierarchy of the Roman Catholic church. I will point out some of it here but will only “scratch the surface”. The problems with the Papacy and Vatican go much, much deeper.
I beg of you, in Jesus’ name, to consider your eternal life to come. I sincerely believe that your eternal life is now balanced on a precipice, ready to topple into oblivion and darkness, pushed over the edge by man’s church; if you allow it!
The New York Times published an article on July 1, 2010 entitled, Church Office Failed to Act on Abuse Scandal. Contrary to much written in the “N.Y. Slime”, this article is factual, well-researched, and smartly referenced. I suggest you read it in it’s entirety.
In 2001 Pope John Paul II gave a Cardinal exclusive power and privilege to deal with the expanding and visible pedophile and sex scandals within the Catholic church. The Cardinal was to answer to the Pope only and have “papal power” to address the problem directly. That Cardinal’s name is Joseph Ratzinger, now called Pope Benedict XVI.
As you will read in the article, Ratzinger’s office, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, had been given this authority for over 80 years previously! Obviously, Cardinal Ratzinger was not in charge the entire time. The referenced NYTimes article is 5 pages long and is a must-read!
In summation, the handling of this long-standing sexual abuse problem in the church has been severely mishandled! The implications of this are beyond the scope of all religious scandals in modern times. This problem, within the Roman Catholic church, is massive and systematic. For Christians, it means that the RCC should be avoided like the plague that it is. It also means that if your church follows the Roman church’s lead, you must make a decision as well.
For Christians who study their Bible, they are aware that an historical “Beast” church will rise up and influence the entire world and especially other “Christian” churches. These influenced churches are called “Images of the Beast”.
One such church, IMO, is the Presbyterian church. Remember, I’m speaking of organizations here, not people. Presbyterians meeting in Minneapolis recently for the church's general assembly were scheduled to vote on two proposed changes. One would allow non-celibate gays and lesbians in committed relationships to serve as clergy, deacons and elders. The other would change the definition of marriage from between "a man and a woman" to between "two people."
This sort of ruling must eventually be approved by it’s membership. I predict it will splinter the Presbyterian church, as this kind of ruling has already done to the Lutheran and Episcopal churches (other Images of the Beast, IMO).
As I mentioned earlier, the sex scandal problem in the Roman church is not limited to pedophilia, as it that’s not bad enough! The Vatican is also cracking down on Priests who sexually abuse mentally impaired adults.
As the linked article points out the victims are not happy about the Vatican’s effort, just as the victims of the pedophilia are not happy.
Very recently, another tryst has come to light; pardon the unintentional pun. I must warn you, however, this linked article has ADULT content!
As quoted from the article; “A gay priest sex scandal has rocked the Catholic Church in Italy today after a weekly news magazine released details of a shock investigation it had carried out.”
“Using hidden cameras, a journalist from Panorama magazine - owned by Italian Prime Minister and media baron Silvio Berlusconi - filmed three priests as they attended gay nightspots and had casual sex.”
The article contains photos of this activity! Be careful!
And lastly, for those who think I’m bashing the Roman church because of my own affiliations, please be aware that Roman Catholics are upset and amazed at this behavior of their beloved church. Here is one such blog.
Folks, as Christians, you must decide if you will follow the teachings of the Beast or the teachings of the Word of God. The Christian world is obviously going through a process of division.
This division is described in the Bible as the False church and the True church of the end times and that our choice between the two will be obvious for those who believe in the light of truth. The light of truth is described in the Word of God, the Bible, and if your church denies this Word then it is part and parcel to the False church. Did you know that it's perfectly fine for a Catholic Priest to be homosexual (according to the Roman church)? The Papacy and the Vatican teach that one of their Priests can be "gay" as long as he is celibate. Yet, the Bible declares this behavior as sinful. In fact, the Bible declares celibacy as a "wrong". All of us have lust in us and all have sinned. But, can you envision Peter or Paul being openly homosexual and still being assigned the tasks they were given? I can't!
As the world spins around us with worries over politics, economics, wars, and rumors of wars; you must decide where the real battle is happening! It is happening within Israel, the Christian believers in modern times. No, I'm not talking about that beloved nation in the middle east, I'm talking about the Christian believers around the world. This is who the Bible refers to as Israel in the last days. Armageddon is happening now amongst the latter day Israelites, the Christian believers. We will divide and separate into a false church and a true church. And if you don't believe the true Christians are being persecuted in these United States and around the world - you have not been paying attention!
You must decide - which church do you belong to; the False church, or the True church!?!
If you answer "neither", then you just might be on Satan's team.
Please Note: The Roman Catholic church has done much that is good in it's day. It contains multitudes of saintly people. She has done much work with hospitals, education, care for the poor and needy, the elderly, and more. Yet she has also been a pariah of history and was correctly identified as the Beast back in Reformation times. She is behaving like that Beast again in modern times.
