New Years Eve - 2006

I am in a bad mood this morning. Maybe its the "coffee buzz" which combined with the turn of events has made me edgy. This morning I suffer with a case of anal myopia. On the eve of 2007, I have a crappy outlook on life. I look at this world and I think, "It ain't gonna get any better. Man is the same as he ever was and that's not good."

This morning, a friend called asking for help. She wants me to talk to her son about the war in Iraq. She is about 25 years older than me and I think her son is a few years younger. She is distressed because her son is opposed to the war. She is a conservative Christian and is disturbed by his "liberal opposition" to the war. I want to tell her that it's irrational to try to reason with people deep into BDS. I want to tell her that our side is at a low point in the "long war" and are even beginning to argue amongst ourselves. How do I tell her that the other side may have been right about the futility of the endeavor? How do I tell her that Iraq has been mishandled and now there doesn't appear to be an upside? How do I tell her that for us (the US) it's over in Iraq. Even if Bush elects to surge US troop strength, its doubtful that the Democrats will go along with the plan. The best we can do is leave the inevitable bloodshed to the Iraqis while those of us who see the danger of militant Islam regroup and rethink our long term strategies in the face of world opposition. Should I tell her that the other side only wants to see us eat crow, so it's best to say little or nothing while they enjoy their turn at hubris?

How do I tell remind her that when we place our faith and trust in mankind including our fellow conservatives, we will always be disappointed? Or do I tell her that the sun will come out tomorrow?

We Need People To Do The Job Republicans Won't Do

Sen. John McCain remarked once that, "Americans wouldn't pick crops for $50.00 dollars an hour", that they would "refuse to do the jobs immigrants [illegals]will do". Almost immediately his office was besieged by phone calls, letters, and emails asking for that $50.00 an hour job, picking crops.

As someone who was raised in the country and started picking crops at age 5, I can tell John McCain that Americans will do whatever job it takes to get ahead and make a better life than the one they had in the fields.!

... What they won't do - is continue to put up with incredibly stupid politicians!

"On May 25, a few brave souls tried to talk sense to the fanatics who rammed S. 2611 through the Senate. “We will never solve the problem of illegal immigration by rewarding those who break our laws,” said Republican Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina .
The fanatics would not listen, as Texas Sen. John Cornyn observed."
"There seems to me to be a sense of surreality here, where people in the Senate just are not listening to what the American people are telling us," said Mr. Cornyn, another Republican who voted against the bill. "
"The results of the 2006 election have been interpreted many ways by different analysts since Nov. 7, but it could be argued that May 25 was the day the Republican Party doomed itself to defeat. "

"Republican elites couldn’t fool the American worker. Now we’ll see if the Democratic elites are foolish enough to try."

The Incredible Shrinking Brain

Can We Withstand Two More Years of Mindless Muddle?

"President Bush yesterday conceded that U.S. forces were inadequately prepared to handle sectarian violence that broke out in Iraq after the fall of Baghdad, but said any increase in American troops to establish security there must be tied to a specific mission "that can be accomplished."

... Translation: I don't know what the HELL I'm doing now, or have been doing for 6 years!

Also, Bush prepares to make deals with Democrats!

and ... , the CIA prepares for defeat!

Wahhabis or Salafis? Another Battle Lost For The West

The Asymmetry of Political Correctness!

"WHEN THE DEFINITIVE HISTORY of the global war against Islamist extremism is written, it may well be recorded that one of the psychological victories by al Qaeda and its Saudi financiers and commanders was to convince Western governments and media that Wahhabism, the fundamentalist Sunni sect that is the state religion in the desert kingdom, should not be mentioned by its name."

"After September 11, 2001, Islamist adherents on our shores first denied that Wahhabism existed. There was, they insisted, just Islam. Excision of the W-word from Western discourse was a serious hit. Instead, Westerners were told that, in the words of a Der Spiegel writer, Bernhard Zand, the Saudi-backed extremists are "called Wahhabis by outsiders" and "describe themselves as Salafis."

... we know those Saudis, right? Fiends, uh, friends of the Bush Family!

The Ten Principles of Conservatism

Or, What Republicans Have Long Forgotten!

As a very political year approaches an end, and a new presidential election cycle looms, it’s a good time for conservatives to step back from partisan politics and reflect on their cause. What do "true" conservatives believe? Here are 10 principles worth pondering.

1. God’s Law Governs Nations as Well as Men
2. Life Is the First God-Given Right
3. Marriage and Family Come Before the State and Deserve Its Protection
4. Freedom of Conscience is the Soul of Liberty
5. Private Property is the Servant of Freedom
6. Government Dependency is the Seed of Tyranny
7. The Constitution Means What It Says
8. Taxes Are Justified Only to Fund Necessary Government Spending
9. National Defense Is Just That
10. We Should Strive to Give Our Children a Better Country

Remembering A Brother

David Pryce-Jones reminds us that their are still those in England who can "praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!."

With greatest respect; God Bless Cpl. Bryan Budd, awarded the Victoria Cross, Britain’s supreme medal for gallantry in action.

"Corporal Bryan Budd of the Parachute Regiment has just received it in the course of fighting in Sangin, a Taleban stronghold in Helmand province in Afghanistan — fighting so severe that he himself was killed and his VC is therefore posthumous. In a first action, he stormed a house to kill the Taliban firing from it, while also rescuing a wounded colleague. In another action, his section was out in the open when it came under fire from Taliban. Budd set his weapon at automatic fire, and charged, killing several Taliban and assuring the safety of his section. This is true heroism."

Sharia Law; From An Expert

Or, Why Islam is not compatible with modern society; UNLESS IT AND IT'S FOLLOWERS CHANGE!
"How can an oppressed woman bring up happy and healthy children? Even sons? Character is dependent on an oppressed woman in the first years of life. That is the dilemma of the Muslim family. Polygamy rights do not only hurt women, but they also negatively impact younger and poorer males in the Middle East from having wives. Some Muslim women often choose to be an additional wife to a wealthy man than the first wife of a poorer man. The Middle East has a large number of unmarried and sexually frustrated young men who are ready for jihad and the 72 virgins awaiting them in heaven. That is what they hear in mosques every Friday."
"There are people in Arab jails right now who are accused of defaming Islam or their country in front of non-Muslims. This defamation can be a simple praise of Christians or Jews and of
being critical of radical Islam. Fear of being accused of defaming one’s tribe, nation or religion leads to a culture that tends to blame others rather than look within. The Judeo Christian culture concentrates heavily on the concept of “we are all sinners and only through the grace of God we can be saved.” That is a big relief to the Western psyche. Muslim education views members of other religions as sinners; the infidel non-Muslim sinners can only be saved by announcing they are Muslims. It is a prominent part of the Jewish faith to talk about God’s punishment when they are disobedient to God’s laws."

... all the Political Correctness voiced by the ignorant doesn't make something a reality. ISLAM IS NOT A VALID RELIGION! Nonie Darwish has to be one of the bravest women I know of!

Mum-Economic Centrism, Apocalyptic Centrism, and the President's Plan to Win In Iraq - Read the Already Published Plan Here!

Rich Lowry from National Review Online has written an interesting article about Lou Dobbs, calling him, "CNN's self-discrediting anchor". I've never been a watcher of CNN, in general, and never Lou Dobbs in particular. My experience with CNN was in its early days when it was a "new way to look at news". The same goes for "network" television. I haven't watched it for about 20 years, except an occasional desire to see Jack Bauer break someone's kneecap! So, my comments on Mr. Dobbs will be from Mr. Lowry's perspective. Lowry refers to Dobbs as an "Apocalyptic Centrist"; that is, someone who consistently looks at the bad things going on around us. In part, Lowry says;

"His trick is to spout clichés drawn from the Right and the Left — any one of which has a 50/50 chance that the average person will agree with it — and give them a patina of freshness by wrapping them in angry and dire rhetoric. That rhetoric is their essential glue, making Dobbs the country’s foremost practitioner of apocalyptic centrism."

I realize, of course, that I do the same sort of thing on this blog. Lou does it for ratings - I do it because I actually see us trending in that direction. In other words, the social changes and "progress" made in the last 100 years (historically) seems to be taking us more towards a "marxist" (small "m") society as opposed to a classical Jeffersonian society. The embrace and acceptance of Marxist Political Correctness is a prime example. At the same time I understand that America swings back and forth and usually settles down near the center, or just left of center.

Rich Lowry, as the counter to Dobbs, seems to be a reasonable conservative who will chastise the President and his fellow republicans from time to time, but becomes fairly mum when he talks about economics. I would call Rich Lowry a "Mums the Word Economic Centrist". Realizing that the President and his administration fellows are much smarter than I, if this country needs to become more "third world-ish" economically, so be it! Arguing from this view, the middle-class will eventually become a much smaller technical class hanging on to the proverbial butt of the upper class, and the majority of Americans, purposely ill-educated and purposely diluted with illegal cheap labor, will become Americas "third world", complete with the crime and problems associated with this kind of society! This is precisely the moment that the Rich Lowry's of the world become "deaf and dumb". The economic policies are going well, he might say, just look at the stock market! Don't worry about the so-called North American Union and the Amero because it will never happen! And beside, if it does - it will be good for you! This when my trust in this type begins to vanish rapidly.

Obviously, an in-depth study needs to be done addressing what is really happening to our society. Admittedly, all I have to go on is what I see in my town. It doesn't look good! Nonsense, Tiger, you might say. Just make sure you're not in that lower class! To which I answer, "you're wrong, that is not what America is supposed to be about!"

There is a third archetype here that deserves mention. I'll call it the "Fred Barnes type". Mr. Barnes, of the Weekly Standard says the President has a plan to win in Iraq! Mr. Barnes has been saying this since he was born, basically. President Bush could start building ovens and poison-gas showers and Barnes would find something positive to say about it! (just a joke, Fred - get over it!) Understand this; I want to win in Iraq very much - we should have been almost done by now - and taking vacations in Baghdad seeing the sights. The new plan can be read here. It states that the way to secure stability in Iraq is to first obtain stability in Baghdad. We take 50,000 additional troops and place them in the city while still securing the rest of the country. There's more to the plan than this so you should read all of it.

To my way of thinking, if my enemy is concentrated within a large city then it's time for me to rage holy hell in all other locations, eventually and effectively surrounding that large fortified city. Also, since I have "suicide-soldiers", I would conduct kamikazi raids on the large city killing as many as possible. I would also increase activity across the border with Syria and Iran, bringing in as much death as possible. Asymetric warfare is about taking every opportunity possible to cause damage without getting yourself obliterated. In the case of Muslim extremism, an almost endless supply of troops are available and more are being born every day. If the "Plan" does not do anything regionally, I predict right now; IT WILL NOT WORK! Like lots of things I say here, lately; I HOPE LIKE HEAVEN I'M WRONG!

On Becoming Fascist, Communist, and Nazi

"A new policy of the National Health Service (NHS) in Scotland warns hospitals to watch their language. Under the policy, the staff has been told to stop calling parents "mother" or "father" to "avoid offending gay patients." Instead, the policy tells doctors and nurses to use the words "parents" or "guardians."

"The terms "husband" and "wife" are also banned under the so-called "anti-homophobia laws" that are being implemented across the NHS. A booklet called "Good Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Practice" says that workers who ignore the new rule will face disciplinary action. The rule was imposed in conjunction with a radical homosexual group, "Stonewall Scotland." The war for the family is being waged in the field of semantics. "

"If we allow liberal groups to hijack words in the name of fairness, then they will quickly succeed in making marriage and sex devoid of all meaning. Redefining the family starts with redefining our vocabulary. In their effort to be "inclusive," all the NHS is really accomplishing is insulting mothers and fathers, who have been proven through research--and through the ages--to provide the best environment for children. "

"To suggest otherwise is what is offensive. "

... Scotland is not the only country falling for this - America is too!

Shame In The Great State Of Florida

Sen. Bill Nelson of Florida apparently doesn't have a problem meeting with Nations Supporting Terrorism.

"The senator said he also expressed to the Syrian leader the problems caused by Hezbollah and Hamas and urged Assad to support the release of captured Israeli soldiers. Nelson said the Syrian president responded by saying Israel had 20 Syrians in captivity, one of whom died recently from leukemia.
The senator shrugged off suggestions he was challenging Bush's authority by sidestepping administration policy that the U.S. have no contact with Syrian officials."

... do ya really believe talking to Assad will help? Huh, do ya Chump!?!

The "Field" - Or, Go Back To The Drawing Board

US Senator Samuel D. "Sam" Brownback (Republican - Kansas)

- a national unknown. With a name like "brownback", maybe he can claim an hispanic origin and get some government entitlements? Middle America seems to like him. Don't really know enough about him.

Former NYC Mayor Rudolph W. "Rudy" Giuliani (Republican - New York)

- America's Mayor! Great job after 9-11!. A FLAMING LIBERAL! (which is odd for a so-called conservative Italian) Do not think the South or mid-West will vote for him.

US Senator John S. McCain III (Arizona)
- sincerely appreciate his military service. Have you ever noticed? Very few "Republican leaders" have served in the military? Too bad, however, he's one of the ultimate R.I.N.O. s. Would sell the country to Mexico to make another "buck". An election spoiler.
"R.I.N.O."? That would be most Republican leaders right now!?!

Governor W. Mitt Romney (Republican - Massachusetts)

- what's the "W." for? Wilburforce or sumtin? Don't trust anybody from Masssuicidechusits anyway, or anybody named "Mitt".

Former Governor John E. "Jeb" Bush (Florida)

- a true conservative when it comes to fiscal responsibility! Otherwise, he's too friendly with the "C.A.I.R." organization and is a "social liberal" and "Internationalist" like all in the Bush family.

... click here for a more complete list, I'm sure I can find something wrong with all of them!

The Man's Mind Is Totally Gone!

Over the years the man has gotten steadily worse. If I reach a point in my life when my mental faculties have reached "Peanuts" level of deterioration, I hope my family will be sensible enough to keep me at home - in a nice and quiet place.
It's a shame, but you can now equate this man with the likes of; Hitler, Stalin, Ahmadinejad, David Duke and all the rest. No, "Jimma" hasn't murdered millions; he just seems to want it.

"Even as Islamic Hitlerites gather in Iran to deny the first Holocaust of the Jews and to plot the second, former president Jimmy Carter tours America with a new book that describes Jews as racists and oppressors, and suggests they are also a conspiratorial mafia that intimidates “critics,” controls America’s media and war policy, and are therefore also the source of Islamic terrorism and the Arabs’ genocidal campaign to eliminate them from the map of the Middle East."

"In other words, Americans beware of the Jew in your midst. "

Bush Administration Continues To Deny Christian Worship By Military Personnel

"The Department of Defense (DOD) is entering a new conflict over the religious rights of military personnel. Once again, retired Air Force lawyer Michael Weinstein has come to the forefront in his campaign to curb the speech of evangelicals in the military. "

"The latest is a call to investigate seven military officers for their appearance in a video for an organization called The Christian Embassy. The Embassy, whose mission is to spread faith and offer encouragement to government officials in Washington, D.C., taped interviews with four generals and three colonels at the Pentagon in full dress uniform along with Congressmen and other government officials. Weinstein's group charges that the officers violated the regulations that prohibit personnel from appearing in uniform during "speeches... rallies, or any public demonstration... which may imply Service sanction of the cause."

"In 2003, another Army Lieutenant General was criticized for appearing in uniform at churches, but the Inspector General ruled that he was acting within his rights. Whether or not the department takes action against these men, the true effect, and I believe intent, is to silence any soldier with religious convictions--a result that should have us all up in arms."

News Alert! Christians Caused Republican's Loss In November!

Or, How To Continually Crap On Your Constituency!

... no, it's not really a News Alert. It's just that the subject has come up again. Michael Reagan was on Neil Cavuto's show yesterday lamenting about those gosh darn Christian Conservatives and how they caused the Republican's loss in November. If only the "CC" leaders had done more!

Dick Armey's attack on Pat Robertson and "attack" commentary from Human Events has pretty much told the republican Christian base to; GO TO HELL!

... when things go terribly wrong, most sensible people look at themselves first and wonder what they did to cause the problem, if anything. The Republican Party, however, has continued to search far and wide to blame everyone but themselves. It can't be the President, it can't be the Senate, it can't be the House; hold on, it can't be that we've discarded all of our principles! It must be those Christians!

... I've got news for ya, Repubs. I don't worship Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, or the Pope! Maybe you shouldn't either.

Hey Repubs! Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah! YOU IDIOTS!

Goodbye Dollar! The Amero Is On It's Way!

... this is one of those stories that is mistaken on all counts, a complete and utter misreading of reality. Or, is it?

"The trend line in my M3-plus-debt chart is staggering," Kuever said. "There has been a straight, long-term trend line of M3-plus-credit increasing since 2000. Long-term, we are creating inflation and the dollar has lost almost 98 percent of its value in the past 100 years."

"The Fed is in a very tough spot here," Chapman wrote, "If they raise rates, the real estate market will collapse, and if they lower rates, the dollar will collapse."

"A dollar collapse is imminent, Chapman declared. "

"People in the U.S. are going to be hit hard," Chapman warned. "In the severe recession we are entering now, Bush will argue that we have to form a North American Union to compete with the Euro."

"Creating the amero," Chapman explained, "will be presented to the American public as the administration's solution for dollar recovery. In the process of creating the amero, the Bush administration just abandons the dollar."

A Muslim Should Not Be Allowed To Serve In Congress - 2

"Last month Keith (Hakim Mohammad) Ellison of Minnesota became the first Muslim elected to serve in the United States Congress and shocked many Americans by declaring that he would take his oath of office by placing his hand on the Quran rather than the Bible. Can a true believer in the Islamic doctrine found in the Quran swear allegiance to our Constitution? Those who profess a sincere belief in Allah say "no!"

"In 1789, George Washington, our first president under the Constitution, took his oath to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. So help me God." Placing his hand on the Holy Scriptures, Washington recognized the God who had led our Pilgrim fathers on their journey across the Atlantic in 1620 and who gave our Founding Fathers the impetus to begin a new nation in 1776. Soon after Washington's oath, Congress passed the Judiciary Act of 1789, which required all judges of the federal courts to "faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties" incumbent upon them "agreeably to the Constitution and laws of the United States. So help me God." Placing their hand on the Bible, the members of Congress had already sworn to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States ... So help me God."

... inviting the Fox into the hen house to count your chickens and salivate over them, while you're trying to make friends with him, passes no sensible "test"; it doesn't pass the "smell" test, the "common sense" test, or even the "morality" test. It is simple INSANITY!

Illustrious Seniors' Group

Mark Steyn has some thoughts on the Iraqi Support Group.

December 10, 2006
Well, the ISG -- the Illustrious Seniors' Group -- has released its 79-point plan. How unprecedented is it? Well, it seems Iraq is to come under something called the "Iraq International Support Group." If only Neville Chamberlain had thought to propose a "support group" for Czechoslovakia, he might still be in office. Or guest-hosting for Oprah.

You must read it all.

Us Or Them

Don Feder delivered the following speech to the Americans for A Safe Israel National Conference (“America And Israel – The Present Danger”) held in New York City on December 3, 2006. – The Editors.

You have a problem. It’s a problem shared by Jews in Hebron, Serbs in Kosovo, Hindus in the Kashmir, Catholics in Lebanon, and Americans walking the streets of New York.
Consider the inter-connectedness of the following incidents, all of which took place in the past few months:

-In Indonesia, three Christian schoolgirls were beheaded.
-In Iraq, a Syrian Orthodox priest was kidnapped, tortured, and murdered.
-In Somalia, a nun was shot to death as she left the hospital where she worked, tending the sick and dying.
-In Lebanon, just days ago, a cabinet minister was assassinated.
-In Britain, authorities uncovered a conspiracy in which native-born Brits plotted to blow up several trans-Atlantic flights, killing as many as 3,000.
-In Afghanistan, suicide bombers are at work again.
-In Iraq, they never stopped. Additionally, the week before last, a group of worshippers were abducted from a mosque, doused with gasoline and burned to death in what’s described as “sectarian violence.”
-In France, a high school philosophy teacher is in hiding after very credible death threats following publication of a September 19th commentary in Le Figaro.
Some 139 people died in riots in Nigeria, Libya, Pakistan, and Afghanistan – following the publication of Danish cartoons.
Europe is experiencing the worst wave of anti-Semitic violence since Kristallnacht. The former director of the U.S. Holocaust Museum reports there an average of 12 assaults a day on Jews in Paris.
-In Kosovo, 90 percent of Serbs gave been ethnically cleansed from the province since 1999. The rest live in a state of siege.
-In Mumbai, India, a series of blasts killed almost 200.
-In Gaza, terrorists recently celebrated the latest “ceasefire” by raining more rockets on southern Israel.
And the leader of more than a billion Catholics received death threats and demands that he convert after giving a speech in which he called for a balance of faith and reason, and quoted a 14th century Byzantine emperor.

... read the entire speech. It's terrific!

Terror Attacks Along US Canada Border?

--Breaking story--

Observanda Exclusive

A devastating series of brutal attacks which occurred earlier today along the U.S and Canadian border have left residents fearful that terrorists have infiltrated the area. Observanda has obtained exclusive photos and video of the attacks.

A neighbor took this photo as the first of the attacks occurred.

Vicious Assault Caught on Video

Authorities recover the remains of an unidentified victim.

Authorities attibute the attacks to crime and hooliganism but frightened local residents are certain that these are related terror attacks.

World's Largest Supporters of Terrorism?

... take a nice clean, bright white towel, wrap it neatly around a huge, smelly, dripping piece of Sunni and what do you get? My, my ...! You get the most active supporter of Terrorism in the world! A Saudi Arabian! You know those guys, don't ya? They have friends in high places - the White House, for instance!

By SALAH NASRAWI , CAIRO, Egypt Dec 8, 2006 (AP)— "Private Saudi citizens are giving millions of dollars to Sunni insurgents in Iraq and much of the money is used to buy weapons, including shoulder fired anti-aircraft missiles, according to key Iraqi officials and others familiar with the flow of cash."

"In one recent case, an Iraqi official said $25 million in Saudi money went to a top Iraqi Sunni cleric and was used to buy weapons, including Strela, a Russian shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missile. The missiles were purchased from someone in Romania, apparently through the black market, he said. " ... remember the American jet that recently crashed?

"Last week, a Saudi who headed a security consulting group close to the Saudi government, Nawaf Obaid, wrote in the Washington Post that Saudi Arabia would use money, oil and support for Sunnis to thwart Iranian efforts to dominate Iraq if American troops pulled out. The Saudi government denied the report and fired Obaid."

... with "friends" like these, who needs ... Oh! Never mind ...

The Iraq Study Group Report - A Shiite Sandwich

"The United States must build a new international consensus for stability in Iraq and the region. In order to foster such consensus, the United States should embark on a robust diplomatic effort to establish an international support ... [which] should include every country that has an interest in averting a chaotic Iraq, including all of Iraq's neighbors - Iran and Syria among them. Despite the well-known differences between many of these countries, they all share an interest in avoiding the horrific consequences that would flow from a chaotic Iraq, particularly a humanitarian catastrophe and regional destabilization."

- The Iraq Study Group Report

The Iraq Study Group Report is the consensus of a bi-partisan elite, only one of whom has been outside the Green Zone. It satisfies the left's demand for acknowledgment of the quagmire, but it fails to deliver on hyped expectations and has been widely panned by the critics as little more than a consensus for surrender and an outline for retreat. It could also be called aid and comfort for the other side. Iran and Syria can hardly contain themselves such is their glee at having humbled the Great Satan. Israel thinks the report is an embarrassment for both major American parties. Nancy Pelosi also calls for consensus.

The sad thing is: Other than throwing Israel overboard, asking the Administration to bow down before the Axis of Evil, and suggesting amnesty for the death squads, Baker-Hamilton doesn't recommend much beyond Bush & Rumsfeld's "stay the course" plan.

Baker says that the report calls for a "five-fold increase in the U.S. combat forces dedicated to the training and equipping mission." The report is silent about the question of where the trainers will be found. From combat units? Don’t we need those for force protection? The army is already short 100,000 soldiers. Then there is the issue of time. It will take months to train the trainers. Weren't we told a month ago, that we only have four to six months before the security situation is totally out of hand? This is how Speigel reported the situation yesterday.

In the US on Wednesday, all eyes were on the members of the Iraq Study Group. And in Iraq? Ten more soldiers died, at least 50 Iraqis lost their lives, power came on for only an hour in Baghdad and another 2,000 refugees left. Just an average day as the country disintegrates.
This is what Iraq has come down to? We're out of time, money, men and options. Our army is too small, the rotations are too frequent. The equipment is wearing out. There's no force reserve. The money is flowing out of the treasury like Iraqi blood. We must turn to Iran, Syria and the Saudis to bail us out. We must hand over Israel. The best we can hope to do is get some semblance of an Iraqi police force and army built-up before we leave in 2008. That's it? Three years, three thousand dead, twenty-thousand wounded and that's it? Sorry, that won't do.

About the report, James Baker frets, "I hope we don't treat this like a fruit salad and say, "I like this, but I don't like that. I like this, but I don't like that."

Must have consensus, you know? Thank you, Baker-Hamilton, and thank you, Pelosi-Reid and Company. By the way, where have you been for the last three years when the country really needed consensus?

Baker said "fruit salad" but what we're really being told to choke down is a shiite sandwich painted with a mustard smiley face. Everyone is expected to smile when you eat it and ask for seconds because that's all we've got and there's plenty of it. Manja!

Remembering Pearl Harbor, Remembering 9-11

Today is December 7th, the famous "day of infamy". Our local morning "radio conservative" has gone most of the morning barely mentioning the importance of this date. That is, until listeners began to aggressively call and chastise him. He's one of those "modern conservatives". In other words he has no belief system, although he claims to be a "good" catholic (small "c" intended), he comes across more as a flaming liberal to my old ears.

This date compares and contrasts well with September 11th. When Dec. 7th, 1941 happened, the country united and began to truly fight WWII. When 9-11 happened we united for a short time, invaded two countries and then started a campaign of surrender.

My friends at the Elephant Bar have done a terrific job comparing these two dates. The "read" is very much worth the effort. My associate, Whit, has an entry questioning whether we have the stomach to fight the W.O.T.

... so far, I would have to say NO!

According To The Quran, A Muslim Cannot Serve In Congress!

"The first Muslim member of Congress is linked to a radical Islamic school of thought that requires loyalty to the Quran over the U.S. Constitution, WND has learned. "

"... Islamic school that preaches no Muslim can pledge loyalty to the Constitution or make laws outside the laws of the Quran, which the school's leaders assert is the "supreme law" of the land, trumping all man-made laws including the U.S. Constitution. "

"There is a basic difference between Islam and this form of democracy," he says. "The basic difference is that in Islam it is [Allah's] law as expressed in the Quran and the Sunna that is the supreme law within the limits of which people have the right to legislate. "

"No one can be a Muslim who makes or freely accepts or believes that anyone has the right to make or accept legislation that is contrary to that divine law," Idris adds. "Examples of such violations include the legalization of alcoholic drinks, gambling, homosexuality, usury or interest, and even adoption."

"Conversely, laws prohibiting polygamy and domestic violence also violate the Quran. "

... so, the question is asked; "shouldn't Keith Ellison be removed from his obligation to serve in Congress?" After all, he'll be lying when he swears in.

Dennis Prager Answers His Critics

... and demonstrates why POLITICAL CORRECTNESS IS FASCISM!

"The Council on American-Islamic Relations said Monday that comments by Dennis Prager, a columnist and conservative talk radio host, displayed an intolerance toward Islam that makes him inappropriate to serve on the council, which oversees the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington.
President Bush appointed Prager in August to fill the remainder of a five-year term, which expires in January 2011.
In his column last week, Prager wrote: "Insofar as a member of Congress taking an oath to serve America and uphold its values is concerned, America is interested in only one book, the Bible. If you are incapable of taking an oath on that book, don't serve in Congress."

Here's FOXNEW"S take on it!

Dennis Prager's Response! - "To understate the case, my last column, "America, not Keith Ellison, decides what book a congressman takes his oath on," seems to have touched a national nerve. It has caused a national discussion – actually, more hate-filled attacks on me than civil discussion – and has been covered by just about all major American news media. To their credit, CNN and Fox News both gave me ample time (in television terms anyway) to express my views on two of each network's major shows: "Paula Zahn Now" and Headline News on CNN, and "Hannity & Colmes" and "Your World with Neil Cavuto" on Fox News. And many American newspapers have covered it. "

Is Islam Inherently Violent? - Facts and Figures

"In a recent survey on global conflict, Monty Marshall and Ted Burr of the Center for International Development and Conflict Management found that of the 24 major armed conflicts taking place worldwide in 2005, more than half (13) involved Muslim governments or paramilitary groups on one or both sides of the fighting. What's more, among six countries with "emerging armed conflicts," four are predominantly Muslim and another, Thailand, involves a Muslim separatist movement. "

... "a June Pew Global Attitudes poll that showed a majority of Muslims in Jordan, Egypt and Nigeria, as well as roughly a third in France, Spain and Great Britain, felt violence against civilians can be justified in order to defend Islam. Worse, a July 2005 poll found 22 percent of British Muslims said last summer's rush-hour bombings of London's metro system, which killed 52 people, were justified because of Britain's support for the war on terror. This included 31 percent of young British Muslims. "

Jonah Goldberg Lays It Out Simply - To Win, You Have To Fight!

... America Loves Winners!

"One thousand three hundred and forty-seven days."

"That's how long America was involved in combat in World War II, and Sunday, U.S. involvement in Iraq passed that "grim military milestone," as one TV anchor called it."

"When partisans claim that the American people are fed up and want our troops home, they're deliberately muddying the waters. The American people have never objected to far-flung deployments of our troops. We've had soldiers stationed all over the world for decades. What the American people don't like is losing — lives or wars. After all, you don't hear many people complaining that we still have troops in Japan and Germany more than 20,000 days later."

The Islamic Genocide Plan - A Long Read, But Well Worth it

The following words and pictures prove that radical Muslims have long dreamed, plotted, and demonstrated in favor of the annihilation of Israel and all the Jews in the world. Unfortunately, words and demonstrations are not where they are willing to stop. -- The Editors of Frontpagemag

Incremental Takeover of the U.S.A. Continues - Incompetence Still Prevails

... Political Correctness and the general incompetence that exists within the "movers and shakers" of society will mean the downfall of this great experiment in "democracy". Trained not to scratch in certain places, well brain-washed by the anti-American government education system, these bozos of business continue to bring down our country. Meanwhile, good competent leaders cannot rise to the top or affect change in a system where direct, firm, common sense decision-making is abhorred and vilified. This article contains a wonderful example.

"Airport officials said Friday they will consider setting aside a private area for prayer and meditation at the request of imams concerned about the removal of six Muslim clerics from a US Airways flight last week. "

... if you cannot understand this "connection" between "PC" behavior and the incremental destruction of society as we love and know it; if you think that I'm simply being bigoted and hateful; then you should go purchase your prayer rug now, and avoid the rush.

CAIR Terrorist Front Objects to Term

Continuing To Hire Bad Men

Those folks who know me, understand I'm not a "johnny-come-lately" when it comes to Bush-bashing. Nor do I "bash" because of sheer hatred for the guy, like Liberals do. For a long time now, I've seen attributes in G.W. that bother me. I see them in his brother Jeb, and I saw them in Bush senior. Such men gather around them, men like themselves, so it's no surprise when much ado was made about the appointment of Iraq Muddy Group Co-Chair, James Baker.

"After the invasion of Kuwait, Mr. Baker, intent on securing Arab support for military action against Saddam, traveled to Syria in an effort to woo Mr. Assad, who demanded a free hand to act against Lebanese Christians. One month later, Syrian forces invaded Christian areas of Lebanon, massacred hundreds of Lebanese and consolidated their control over the country. It is no exaggeration to say that many of the problems Lebanon faces today -- with a weakened Christian minority and moderate Muslims up against powerful Islamofascist forces -- are traceable to Mr. Baker's green light to Mr. Assad.
