Which Was Worse, the Crusades or Islamic Jihad?

The political Left is always blaming Christians for Muslim anger and violent Jihad.  The Left especially portrays the historical Crusades as if it was an unprovoked and horrific attack on the peaceful Muslim world.

The truth, of course, has never been a favorite subject of the Left.
