More News On The North American Union And The NAFTA Superhighway

"What you may not know is the extent to which plans for such a superhighway are moving forward without congressional oversight or media attention."

"No treaties were involved, and Congress was not included in discussions or plans, he says."

Update! - Internet Threats Being Evaluated By Feds

"Statements by anti-Semitic white supremacist Hal Turner, who told his Internet audience he may just have to assassinate members of Congress if Americans return them to Washington in next week's election, are being evaluated for their "investigative value," according to the FBI."

The "Party of Values" Better Return To Them

"Of the many disturbing trends for Republicans this campaign season, one of the most troubling is the drop in support among white evangelicals."

... Folks, before you go numb with "don'tcareitis", understand this; this group constitutes a FULL 1/3 rd of the Republican voting block!

... and in a related article, "a new CNN poll finds most Americans still agree with the bedrock conservative premise that, as the Gipper put it, "government is not the answer to our problems -- government is the problem."

... are you listening, George?

Going Off The Deep End - Mixing Hate With Truth

"If you re-elect people who have committed these wrongs against us … then we may have to simply kill them!"

"Hal Turner describes himself as "outspoken, opinionated and brutally blunt." The biography on his website says he was a registered Republican until this month, when he changed his registration to unaffiliated."

... he is also a terrible example of the mixture of bits of truth with visceral hate.

All people who care deeply about this country will, from time to time, get angry at his/her "representatives" in Congress. This fellow goes completely off the deep end. He speaks of problems with the government (the following are his words, not mine) :

- curtailment of political speech through campaign finance law restrictions;
- killing innocent people in Iraq;
- that members of Congress don't read the legislation they pass;
- that elected officials ignore the will of the people;
- that politicians lie to get themselves elected;
- spending is breaking the nation's financial back;
- disapproves of USA Patriot Act and Military Commissions Act of 2006;
- eminent domain ruling jeopardizing property rights.

... I'm sure all of us could add or subtract from this list. But, we have a long, long way to go before arms are taken up against our own. Get involved in the local campaigns of your Congressional and Senatorial candidates to effect change, write letters and emails voicing your opinion to all of your elected officials, start a Blog!

... Remember, our Founding Fathers gave us means to "alter and abolish" a government we deem anti-American. Let's start with a grass roots Constitutional Convention, for example. We SHOULD NOT go directly to the most basic implication of the Second Amendment - the armed overthrow of our own!

Losing His Religion?

"WASHINGTON – White House press secretary Tony Snow today apologized for any misunderstanding he caused by characterizing as "nonsensical" a question from WND White House correspondent Les Kinsolving about a possible pardon for two Border Patrol agents sentenced to prison for shooting a drug smuggler. "

"Snow indicated he has been getting a lot of heat from radio talk-show hosts and angry Americans over his comment."

... you're backing the wrong horse, Tony ...

Mark of the Beast?

"My first real exposure to the United Nations Organization (as the UN was called at the beginning) was with an episode in American history on which Nathan Tabor concludes his thoughtful, prodigiously researched, and richly sourced new book, The Beast on the East River. It was the battle over the proposed “Bricker Amendment” to the United States Constitution. "

The Assault On Marriage Continues

... taken from the Family Research Council Newsletter ...

The New Jersey high court is known to be both political and liberal. Now it has set itself up as a "super-legislature," mandating what lawmakers can and cannot do. However, with a Democratic majority in control in Trenton, and their charade of opposition intact, make no mistake-they will gladly move to do the court's bidding. Yesterday, Gov. Jon Corzine (D-NJ) said, "I look forward to the legislative process implementing the Court's decision." It's painfully obvious that lawmakers are willing to take their marching orders not from the people but from unelected judges. The court ordered the legislature to act in 180 days, knowing full well that it would take the state far longer to strike back with a constitutional amendment that protects marriage. But strike back it must. As a first line of defense, the state must move forward to amend its constitution. Twenty states have already done so and eight more are prepared to join them November 7. The ruling should serve as a wake-up call for those who believe marriage does not need federal protection. We must have a U.S. constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman. That prospect is highly unlikely if the Democrats regain control of Congress. Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, and the Democratic National Committee have vowed to fund and fight against marriage amendments on the state level. Imagine what they could do on a national scale, not only to the legislative process but also in its confirmation of judges, who could all wage similar wars on the values we hold dear. On the eve this election, candidates from both parties need to answer: will you stand up for traditional marriage or not?

Bush Administration Announces Cut & Run Policy - And It's A Good Thing!

No... the administration hasn't really adopted the Demonrats message. By announcing that the Iraqi government should be able to completely secure Iraq on their own, without American military support, in 18 months from now, it places pressure on Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to actually get off his muslim ass and start working for his country and not against it!

In another related story, U.S. Soldiers begin an organized attack on the stronghold at Sadr City, the home of Iraqi henchman, Muqtada al-Sadr, a fellow that should have been dead many moons ago.

I don't know whom within the administration has been taking the testosterone shots and actually grew a pair, but I hope it continues! The interesting part is that nobody told Maliki about the attack on Sadr City. Is it because he can't be trusted?

Greed - The Greatest American Value?

"About 1,000 documents obtained in a Freedom of Information Act request to the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America show the White House is engaging in collaborative relations with Mexico and Canada outside the U.S. Constitution, says WND columnist and author Jerome Corsi."
"The documents give clear evidence that the Bush administration has created a 'shadow government,'" Corsi said.
"The documents can be viewed here, on a special website set up by the Minuteman Project. "

"The university's Center for North American Studies is headed by Robert A. Pastor, the architect of a plan for a North American Union modeled after the European Union–complete with its own currency, the Amero, replacing the dollar. "

"The Center for North American Studies (CNAS) at American University aims to educate a new generation of students to begin a North American journey comparable to that begun in Europe five decades ago," explains the center's website. "The center examines the differences and shared characteristics of Canada, Mexico and the United States; compares the North American experiment with Europe's; and challenges students and faculty to imagine a continental future."

A Kinder Gentler Army

What would Gomer Pyle or Forrest Gump think of the new, kinder and gentler Drill Sergeant? Its definitely a changing world.

Yesterday, I heard a caller to the Hannity Radio Show; It was a young Marine deploying in January or February to Camp Falluja, Iraq. I swear, from the sound of that girls sweet little voice you would have thought she was 12 or 13 years old.

May God bless her and keep her safe and return her unharmed to her family.

Sign Up This Week and Receive Bonus Reward Points

Here's that ID implant MOB Thing Again. From the Timesonline:

Speed through the checkout with just a wave of your arm

By Valerie Elliot

Shoppers could soon pay for goods using a microchip implanted under the skin

IT MAY sound like a sci-fi fantasy but shoppers may one day be able to pay their grocery bills using a microchip implanted in their body.

The idea is already catching on with today’s iPod generation. According to research released today by the Institute for Grocery Distribution (IGD), a retail think-tank, almost one in ten teenagers and one in twenty adults are willing to have a microchip implanted to pay shop bills and help to prevent card or identity fraud and muggings.

A quick scan of the arm would connect immediately to bank details and payments could be made swiftly. Such microchips are already used in cats, dogs and horses. They are used in cattle and sheep so that consumers can trace their food from farm to plate and are also being used to help to combat drugs counterfeiting.
How convenient! Think of the freedom. No cash or credit cards or ID to carry around with you. No need to write checks. No worries about theft or fraud. Wait, I'm sure that someone will offer bonus "rewards points" or a toaster for every who receives an implant during the initial registration period.

Does this disturb anyone else? Because frankly, I can't help but think of the "Mark of the Beast" everytime I read an article about this stuff.

More Evidence of Saudi-Osama Connection - Duh!

"It was supposed to be one of those international “ho-hum” conferences, dedicated to endangered species.

But in a surprise move, the government of Saudi Arabia turned it into an international confrontation, using its veto power to prevent an American conservationist group from presenting what it called “actionable information” that tied top Saudi and United Arab Emirates leaders to al Qaeda."

The Enemy Within, Again! The U.S. State Department

"The militant, Abu Yousuf, hinted any new weapons provided by the U.S. to his group could be shared with the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades terror organization, the declared "military wing" of Abbas' Fatah party. Abu Yousuf, like several Force 17 members, is also a member of the Brigades."

"There is no chance that we will use force and violence against our brothers in Hamas unless they will endanger [Abbas]. There is a chance that Israel will attack the Palestinian territories, and in this case, these weapons and others provided [by the U.S. to Force 17] will be directed towards the (Israeli) occupation," Abu Yousuf said."

"Abu Yousuf told WND in a previous interview the weapons sent by the U.S. in May would be fired at Israelis."

... the venerable AK-47 or even the newest M4 (M16) is only accurate out to 400 - 500 meters, the AK being the worst of the two. Any good gunsmith can adjust and manipulate a rifle to increase its accuracy out to say, 1000 meters ...

... the U.S. State Department authorized the transfer of "accurized" assault rifles to Abu Yousuf thinking they would be used in Palestinian vs. Palestinian infighting ... Washington DOES NOT understand the situation! ...

The Enemy Within - Another Reason Why The American Public Education System Needs To Be Terminated

"Another school has been "teaching" Islam by having students study and learn Muslim prayers and dress as Muslims, and a lawyer who argued a previous dispute over this issue to the U.S. Supreme Court said such methodologies wouldn't "last 10 seconds" if it were Christianity being taught. "

... and the President? well, he's busy trying to use more federal money for NCLB (No Child Left Behind).

Is It OK To Lie To The American People? Apparently The Repugs, Dems, and the President Think So ...

Border Fence? We Don't Need No Stinking Border Fence!

... as mentioned at The Elephant Bar a couple of weeks ago, the monies allocated for the "700 mi." border fence with Mexico may be used elsewhere. The full story is beginning to come out now. Ever wonder why we need Blogs? It's because you can't trust the MSM or your leaders in Washington.

"A writer, Vincent Gioia, on the New Media ChronWatch.com said that the Homeland Security package was approved and "with great fanfare, the president signed the bill."

However, he said Congress and the president, "now, having mollified conservative critics with 'border protection first,'" probably feel free to deal with immigration as they want.

"Unfortunately, the claim of border protection beginning with the appropriation of over one billion dollars allegedly for that purpose is just a big hoax," he wrote. "Quickly following congressional funding authorization to construct 700 miles of Mexican border fence, and just before recessing, Congress enacted additional legislation to enable the president to thwart the will of most Americans who want to protect our Mexican border against illegal immigration."

Get 'Em Out of Office - No Matter the Party

- do you want Gays and Lesbians teaching at your local schools?

- do you want Gays and Lesbians preaching at your local church?

- do you want Gays and Lesbians as your local police, sheriff, or running the ATF and FBI?

- do you want Gays and Lesbians running your child's daycare?

... then why do you want them as your political leaders? Think I'm being bigoted here? Or, are you sick of a depraved society, like I am? This kind of behavior, from the dawn of time, used to be considered a mental aberration, until political correctness reared its ugly head. It all boils down to taking action, locally and nationally. Whether they be Repugs or Demonrats, KICK 'EM OUT!

"The party’s problem today is not its basic principles, its grass-roots supporters or the energetic and committed conservatives who populate its congressional back benches—and who have often, even from there, pushed the national agenda in the right direction. The party’s problem is its leadership."

It's LACK OF LEADERSHIP, that's part of it - and lack of action from all of us. This Foley/Hastert problem is also very much about lack of values. If you're not a mindless slave, then work to limit the influence of ALL who don't share your values, regardless of political affiliation.

Bush and Rumsfeld - Giving the Dems What They Ask For?

... more evidence of weak Republicanism

"The most important aspect of Woodward’s book isn’t this “news,” but the insight it gives into how the U.S. government has arrived at such a middling, uninspired campaign in Iraq — just enough not to win and just enough not to lose. As State Department adviser Philip Zelikow thought after a visit to Iraq in 2005, in Woodward’s words, “There was too much barely coping, just getting by and making incremental improvements.” We have been barely coping because we have never made a decision to go all-out, partly due to the restraining influence of Secretary of Defense Don Rumsfeld. Oddly, given the way he has become a hate-figure for Democrats, it is Rumsfeld who is perhaps closest to the Democrats’ preferred Iraq strategy as any other major figure in the Bush administration."

Mr. Limbaugh, Here is a TRUE Republican, Unlike YOU!

LETTER FROM A FARM KID, (NOW AT San Diego MARINE CORPS RECRUIT TRAINING.)

This is an oldie but goodie.

Dear Ma and Pa,

I am well. Hope you are. Tell Brother Walt and Brother Elmer the Marine Corps beats working for old man Minch by a mile. Tell them To join up quick before all the places are filled. I was restless at first because you got to stay in bed till nearly 6 A.M. But I am getting so I like to sleep late. Tell Walt and Elmer all you do before breakfast is smooth your cot, and shine some things. No hogs to slop, feed to pitch, mash to mix, wood to split, fire to lay. Practically nothing. Men got to shave but it is not so bad, there's warm water. Breakfast is strong on trimmings like fruit juice, cereal, eggs, bacon, etc., but kind of weak on chops, potatoes, ham, steak, fried eggplant, pie and other regular food, but tell Walt and Elmer you can always sit by the two city boys that live on coffee. Their food plus yours holds you till noon when you get fed again.

It's no wonder these city boys can't walk much. We go on "route marches," which the platoon sergeant says are long walks to harden us. If he thinks so, it's not my place to tell him different. A "route march" is about as far as to our mailbox at home. Then the city guys get sore feet and we all ride back in trucks. The country is nice but awful flat. The sergeant is like a school teacher. He nags a lot. The Captain is like the school board. Majors and colonels just ride around and frown. They don't bother you none.

This next will kill Walt and Elmer with laughing. I keep getting Medals for shooting. I don't know why. The bulls-eye is near as big as a chipmunk head and don't move, and it ain't shooting at you like the Higgett boys at home. All you got to do is lie there all comfortable and hit it. You don't even load your own cartridges. They come in boxes.

Then we have what they call hand-to-hand combat training. You get to wrestle with them city boys. I have to be real careful though, they break real easy. It ain't like fighting with that ole bull at home. I'm about the best they got in this except for that Tug Jordan from over in Silver Lake. I only beat him once. He joined up the same time as me, but I'm only 5'6" and 130 pounds and he's 6'8" and near 300 pounds dry.

Be sure to tell Walt and Elmer to hurry and join before other fellers get onto this setup and come stampeding in.

Your loving daughter,

Carol

What Every Boy Needs to Know About Being a Man

“Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good.That honor, virtue and courage mean everything; that money and power mean nothing. That good always triumphs over evil. That true love never dies. Doesn’t matter if they’re true or not. A man should believe in those things anyway. Because they are the things worth believing in.” “What Every Boy Needs to Know About Being a Man” Hub’s speech on values from the film Second Hand Lions.

Honor - Good name; reputation.

a. Principled uprightness of character; personal integrity.

b. A code of integrity, dignity, and pride, chiefly among men, that was maintained in some societies, as in feudal Europe, by force of arms.

c. A woman's chastity

Virtue - moral excellence; goodness; righteousness

Courage - the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear; bravery.

If there is a turning point in the Iraqi violence, this could be the start:
Al-Qaida in Iraq is being pushed out of its strongholds in Anbar province after three days of fighting with Iraq's fiercely independent tribes. A number of al-Qaida fighters have been killed and captured, including Saudis and Syrians. The clashes erupted after a new grouping calling itself the Anbar Rescue Council - which claims to represent a large number of Anbar tribes and sub-clans - said it intended to clear the province of the terrorist group. It also follows a meeting between tribal leaders and the Iraqi prime minister, Nouri al-Maliki, last week in which they asked for government support and arms in their fight against al-Qaida. The fighting also comes as the Iraqi government has said it believes it is close to capturing the organisation's new leader in Iraq, Abu Ayoub al-Masri. Although the power struggle has not reduced the number of attacks against the US-led coalition in Anbar province, it points to a complex reordering of the lines of conflict in the so-called "Sunni Triangle".
From Falluja, where the notoriously fractious Bou Eisa clan have turned against al-Qaida, to the city of Qaim, where it is the Bou Mahal who are pursuing them, they are being being pushed out of their old strongholds in the rural west.
Apparently, Maliki has been offering the tribal sheikhs up to $5,000 a month and weapons while al-Qaeda "emirs" have been undermining the traditional powers of the tribal leaders, interferring with civil engineering projects and cutting off government ration trucks.
"People just got sick of it," said one Anbar resident. "They were setting up their own checkpoints, taking property and houses for their use. They were killing not just police and army but clerics they did not agree with and tribal leaders."
I would bet Iraqi women are behind this change. Don't mess with the baby's milk!

In a related story the BBC report on the New Iraqi plan to curb violence.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has announced a new four-point plan aimed at reducing sectarian violence.

The plan to set up local security committees in areas around the country was agreed after intensive talks with top Sunni and Shia politicians.

It seems that al-Maliki's efforts to enlist the western tribes against al-Qaeda are bearing fruit and it would be easy to become overly optimistic. There are so many variables which must fall into place but if there is to be any lasting peace and stability in Iraq, it must be a product up of a "bottom up" effort. The plan seems to be that ordinary Iraqis take things into their own hands and restore stability and security to Iraq. Of course, there are no guarantees that the tribal guns won't once again be turned on coalition forces but for now, a defeat of al-Qaeda in Iraq will be huge.

... should Dennis Hastert resign?

The Washington Times editorial staff thinks so.

"Late yesterday afternoon, Mr. Hastert insisted that he learned of the most flagrant instant-message exchange from 2003 only last Friday, when it was reported by ABC News. This is irrelevant. The original e-mail messages were warning enough that a predator -- and, incredibly, the co-chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children -- could be prowling the halls of Congress."

... as for me? THROW THE FAT BASTERT OUT ON HIS HEAD! And, cut Foley's Balls off!

QALAT, Afghanistan — "U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist said Monday that the Afghan war against Taliban guerrillas can never be won militarily and urged support for efforts to bring "people who call themselves Taliban" and their allies into the government."
