Always have believed that a little creative destruction is good in most things. We could do better with two new parties but they would be the same. The country was never formed with the idea that professional politicians would run it, let alone huge lobbying industries.
It would be helpful to move the capitol to Minot, North Dakota. That would be a good start.

As Steve Forbes said: "You've got to starve the beast." Without money, K street in DC becomes like any other street. If there's no big money in Serving the country in Congress or the White House, only patriots will serve.
The money lures the nation's crooks like moths to a flame. If we stop sending so much money there will be fewer crooks in DC. Guaranteed!

Isn't it ironic that on 9/11 the mission of the hijacked United Flight 93 was to get rid of as many of them as possible?
tiger, I didn't start at six but at 11, single shot 12 ga stevens. It taught me to take my time and make the shot clean and accurate. When I qualified in the military with the M! Garand, I thought I was in heaven .

Deuce, your Garand comment brought up a wonderful memory. In H.S. I was in JROTC. We had a rifle range behind school. That was my first intro to the mighty M1. We could also bring our 22's from home. Believe it or not I carried my little rimfire to school ON THE BUS!
Back in those days meely-mouth LIBERALS simply weren't around to be PC!

We had a rod and gun club in high school and brought our guns as well. We also brought them during hunting season so that we could get some shooting in before dark. i forgot all about that.

If militias are nothing more than collects under state control, how is Revolutionary and post-Revolutionary history to be explained? A company of militia could be formed of any group choosing to do so. Certain militia command jobs and responsibilites might be loaned to government in trade for supplies in state stores.
A truly wonderful history of militias is found at the Rijks Museum in Amsterdam, where the memebership paintings of freely subscribing members could join one of various units formed by trade associations, for instance. On the Rijks' walls are enourmous paintings of said civil defense companys. Rembrandt, among others, created icons of these citizen sholdiers,e,g, The Old Dutchmasters Cigar logo.

I agree with you and understand the frustration.
My point is that the weak on terror types on Capitol Hill were actually the intended targets of the 9/11 attackers.
Instead of realizing the danger, they play into the hands of our enemies.
Elected officials who are tough on terror are being undermined by them.
I'm not a lib.
