Bush, Kristol, ... Trotsky?

The first neocon: Leon Trotsky broke with Lenin and Stalin over Communist brutality and was himself eventually murdered by Stalin's agents. But Trotsky, like today's neocons, always remained true to the idea of international socialism.

... were we warned years ago?

Sorry Tiger:
I think this guys is full of crap! I guess BDS is not limited to the left. Of course, the John Birch Society is pissed off at Buckley. He pretty much drove the extremists out of the Republican party way back in the late fifties and early sixties. I realize there transnationalists out there but this is a load of crap...

The NeoCon movement is based in socialism, though. It remains to be seen how entrenched the Bush admin is in it.

Can you list specifically where this guy's factually wrong?!?

He may be factually correct but its the way he goes about stringing his facts together and his logic that are suspect to me. First he starts on NAFTA and uses that as an example of a "move against freedom." I think he would do well to provide some facts. He says "NAFTA spurred the flow of jobs and industries to Mexico. Not only that, there were numerous increases in drug trafficking across the US-Mexican border." First he blames a treaty for organinizing something that was happening anyway(globalization of manufacturing) although in the case of Mexico, Perot's "great sucking sound" was not heard and please, NAFTA hasn't created the demand for drugs. The way the guy makes associations NAFTA/Drugs/Socialism and One World Government is creepy and irresponsible.

The arguments this guy makes about Neo-conservative are slimy as well. First he links old time left wing intellectuals such as Kristol with with a wholesale endorsement of socialism and Trotsky. Then he hangs the label on the Republican party. To listen to this guy, you'd think the party was riddled with hook nosed, leftists. I'm beginning to suspect that all the neo-con crap originated with Buchanan and company who frankly, I think are a bunch of anti-semites who would like nothing more than an isolationist policy. It's remarkable to me how Buchanan can argue on behalf of Arabs all day but as far as Israel goes, he is silent and would let them cease to exist tomorrow.

So, the guy goes on to smear William F. Buckley with nonsensensical logic because Buckley was arguing in '52 for a large effort against Communism therefore was a socialist. Give me a break.

People change over time, sometimes they mellow out, sometimes their views harden, most people become more conservative as they mature. Some people like this guy or hard core leftists never change. They get an idea or ideology into their heads and that's where it stays until the day they die.

There may be some truth in what the man is saying, just as if some Spaniard in 1492 was warning against financing Columbus because it would lead to the development of a rival state which would one day steal Cuba and the Phillipines and even eventually a one-world government. But, think about it. Who in the world is advocating a one world government other than lunatics? So what is the point in warning about it and dwelling on it? In order to smear and discredit others, so in fact, this is propaganda. Don't get me wrong, I think the UN is a crock and I couldn't care less if it ceased to exist but I think that if this guys side had prevailed after WWII, the world would be a much more dangerous place after having been through nuclear war.

Whit; I have become completely convinced that our "leaders" have lost their minds and thus, any ability to see reality. I'm trying desperately to find a reason why they've gone "batty".

It's time to buy MORE GUNS!
