Let's Make a Deal

Today Iraq opened its heavy water reactor. Yesterday, it was reported that they offered to begin negotiations if the US would give them a "Security Agreement." On 22 August, they said that they were ready to begin "Serious Negotiations."

I'm confused but it sounds like the negotiations have already begun.

Our response should be "Our offer is already on the table - "Suspend nuclear activities and agree to complete inspections and then we will begin negotiations."

If this situation doesn't end just like North Korea, I'll be shocked.

This entire situation, nuclear weapons in the Arab world, will lead to a N. Korean situation; in my opinion.

The administration (and the EU) lack the will to do anything to prevent nukes from existing anywhere and everywhere.

They believe that MAD, Mutually Assured Destruction, will work with Radical Islam, as it did with the Soviets; remember, the Russians Love Their Children Too? Alas, this doesn’t work with people who strap bombs to babies.

It seems that we've entered a new phase in the GWOT. A kinder, gentler one where police actions are the order of the day.

No more broken China shops.

Can't have any of that cowboy unilaterism.

Wouldn't be prudent.

Exactly!

It's been a real education watching Bush change over the years (or, was he always the same?). We had such high hopes that a true conservative was going to make changes that enhances our freedom, security, and beliefs.

Instead, we now have a puppet, controlled by ... ? Don't know ...
